Family and general dentistry you can count on.

Preventative check-ups keep you ‘in the know’ about your dental health and are suggested for most patients twice a year. During your general dentistry check-ups, our Dental Hygienists provide a thorough teeth cleaning and assist the Dentist in identifying any possible issues you may be experiencing. If X-Rays are suggested or needed, the Hygienist providing care will collect the digital X-Rays using our state-of-the-art technology, which emits much less radiation than traditional X-Ray machines. After the Dentist reviews the X-Rays and consults with the Hygienist, an oral cancer screening, mouth, and teeth check is completed by the Dentist. At this time, any needed consultation about your oral health will be discussed.

During your dental cleaning and check-up we check for oral cancers, signs of abnormal wear on tooth enamel, gingivitis and gum disease, cavities or cracks in teeth, changes in your oral health since the last visit, and we are open for consultation about specialty services, oral health care techniques, and also general or unique questions.

Having a check-up and cleaning every 6 months is the best way you can stay ‘in the know’ about your oral health and keep a healthy mouth and smile.

Professional Teeth Cleanings are recommended in general dentistry for most patients every 6 months. The care you provide for your own teeth at home, daily, plays a role in whether or not you will need a professional cleaning more often than every 6 months. Those who brush and floss twice a day at home and make sure to brush or at least rinse after sugary snacks and drinks have much less tartar buildup and tend to have fewer cavities.
Digital X-Rays put out much less radiation in the process of creating x-rays. In order to see the roots of teeth or any possible problems happening under the enamel, we need to take occasional x-rays in general dentistry. At Hibiscus Dental, we use state-of-the-art technology to provide the lowest radiation possible to gather the images we need. Providing the best dental care possible is part of the way we show our appreciation to our valued patients.
Oral Cancer Screenings by your Dentist can help detect cancers of the mouth prior to them becoming life threatening. Not unlike skin checks, colonoscopies, mammograms, and other screenings, oral cancer screenings save lives and early detection of cancers in the mouth can save patients from painful surgeries or surgeries where large sections of soft tissue, teeth, or even bones must be removed.
