Preventative check-ups for our pediatric patients keep parents ‘in the know’ about their child’s dental health and are suggested twice a year. During our check-up our caring and experienced Dental Hygienists provide a thorough teeth cleaning while talking with our patient about the importance of oral healthcare. Assisting the Dentist in identifying any possible issues or areas of worry, our Hygienists take the time to answer questions and make our young patients comfortable. If X-Rays are needed, the Hygienist providing care will collect the easy to take and non-scary digital X-Rays using our state-of-the-art technology, which emits much less radiation than traditional X-Ray machines. After the Dentist reviews the X-Rays and consults with the Hygienist, an oral cancer screening, mouth, and teeth check is completed by the Dentist. At this time, any needed consultation about our pediatric patient’s oral health will be discussed with the parent.

During your child’s dental cleaning and check-up we check for oral cancers, signs of abnormal wear on tooth enamel, gingivitis and gum disease, cavities or cracks in teeth, changes in oral health since the last visit, and we are open for consultation about specialty services, oral health care techniques, and also general or unique questions.

Having a check-up and cleaning every 6 months is the best way you can help teach your child the value of oral health and stay ‘in the know’ about their oral health to help them keep a healthy mouth and smile!

Pediatric Teeth Cleanings are recommended every 6 months. The care you provide for your children’s teeth and mouth now set the standard for them to take personal responsibility and maintain their oral health all through their life. We are happy to support parents in educating children about all the positives a healthy smile supports in life, and teach special fun tricks and tips to keep flossing and brushing as a fun priority at home. Those who brush and floss twice a day at home and make sure to brush or at least rinse after sugary snacks and drinks have much less tartar buildup and tend to have fewer cavities. 🙂
Digital X-Rays are great for pediatric dentistry. Putting out much less radiation in the process of creating x-rays, we feel great offering this quick and easy, non-scary alternative to our patients. In order to see the roots of teeth or any possible problems happening under the enamel, we need to take occasional x-rays. Using state-of-the-art technology to provide the lowest radiation possible to gather the images we need to provide the best dental care is part of the care we provide to our sweet pediatric patients.
